The
perfect “e-business” model: the soda machine that
never runs out of soda!
If you are still not quite sure what I am talking about, don’t
feel too badly. This new perspective of exchanging goods over
the internet leaves a lot of people a little baffled since
it is still so new. It requires some thinking outside of the
box.
Here’s an analogy that may just help you understand
what we are going for in your ideal “e-business”.
It’s not exactly a parallel analogy, but work with me
for a moment. Ideally you want your “e-biz” to
operate almost like a soda machine. Your soda machine is packed
full of ice-cold refreshing soda of various flavors. It is
conveniently located on a very busy corner of town, it has
all of the soft drink favorites, and everyone loves a refreshing
soda to sip on in the middle of their busy day. The nice thing
about soda machines for the customer is that they are so extremely
fast and convenient. The nice thing about soda machines for
the soda companies is that they are very low maintenance and
cost very little in the long run. They don’t need to
pay an employee to watch the machine or take the customer’s
money. Except for being refilled with soda and emptied of
change occasionally, these machines pretty much take care
of themselves. Customers simply drop a little spare change
into the machine and push a button to get the soft drink of
their choice. The soda company simply collects the coins periodically
and replenishes the machines contents. How do I know that
the soda machine is an effective revenue generator for the
soda companies? The proof lies in the fact that these machines
are literally on every other street corner! We all know how
easy it is to find a soda machine!
The extremely good news for you as an aspiring online entrepreneur
is that your virtual “soda machine” can go several
steps further than the conventional soda machine. If your
business is set up properly, your virtual soda machine will
never run out of soda! It will never have to be emptied of
change. Best of all, if done according to the guidelines I
will be setting for you in the rest of this book, you will
be able to set up just one virtual soda machine in such a
way that it will be as effective as a conventional soda machine
on every street corner in the world! It’s almost like
there is a special on these soda machines where all you have
to do is buy one soda machine at a bargain price, and you
get a million more machines for free already set up on every
busy corner and full of soda, and you never have to refill
any of these machines again! How great would that be?
